In one of the first Team Blake knockout rounds on The Voice Monday night (April 10), Blake Shelton pitted Andrea Thomas against Lauren Duski for the elimination showdown.
Andrea, who is a former backup singer for Carrie Underwood, chose Faith Hillâs âCryâ for her song.
âIf you sing backup for Carrie, you sing perfectly. Maybe itâs time to dirty it up,â Blake said to Andrea before her performance.
Blake pitted Andrea against Lauren Duski, who chose Alison Kraussâ âWhen You Say Nothing At Allâ (originally sung by Keith Whitley).
âI paired Andrea and Lauren because theyâre my pop-leaning country artists,â Blake explained. âSelfishly, I donât want to do it, but I think itâs the best thing for my team.â
Hey @adamlevine @aliciakeys @gwenstefani â how much can I pay yâall to make these decisions for me? I wonât go higher than ten bucksâŠ

Blake had to make the hard decision all by himself. âThis is the one Iâve been dreading,â he said. In the end, Blake chose Lauren over Andrea to continue on the show.
