Ashley McBryde visited Nashvilleâs Ryman Auditorium on April 10 to record a special rendition of âAmazing Graceâ for release on Easter Sunday.
The virtually empty âMother Church of Country Musicâ was an apropos setting for the hymn, which Ashley noted she âwouldnât normally sing,â but felt compelled to share under the circumstances.
Ashley included a short message with the release, which you can read below:
âI had the opportunity to honor all weâve lost at the Ryman this week and I tried my best . . . 7 times in a row. I really tried . . .
âSome things just canât be healed. Some losses canât be reconciled and some wounds will never heal. Sometimes we donât get closure the way we want to. All we can do is honor our predecessors and hope that we touch the hem of heaven sometime in our lives.
âI wouldnât normally sing this song but we all may need this right now and there isnât a better place to sing it at than the Ryman. The mother church pulls things like that out of you and will tell you what to sing and when to sing it . . . even if you canât. Happy Easter, love to you all.â
