American Idol’s 2022 Finalists Have Country Music Roots

Shades of American Idol 2011 which featured Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina – American Idol 2022 also came down to two finalists with deep country roots – Noah Thompson and HunterGirl (Hunter Wolkonowski) were the two singers that America had to vote for


Huntergirl started out the competition show with covering a Rascal Flatts song, and had judge Luke Bryan comparing her to Miranda Lambert.

Noah Thompson was urged to try out for American Idol by his friend Arthur – and then wow’ed judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry with a cover of Kameron Marlowe‘s “Giving You Up.”
