Big & Richâs John Rich slammed Nike via Twitter on Sept. 3 for featuring Colin Kaepernick in its âJust Do Itâ 30th anniversary campaign.
Hey @Nike I guess you made @Kaepernick7 your new âfaceâ of the brand because you love the way his socks look with your shoes? @Reebok here we come. #WeStand @TomiLahren @greggutfeld @kilmeade @RedneckRiviera pic.twitter.com/tgtbl8VFzv

To catch you up to speed, former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick wore a pair of socks to training camp in 2016âwhen he played for the San Francisco 49ersâthat featured pigs dressed as policemen. Kaepernick, who sparked controversy in 2016 by passively protesting during the national anthem before games, has been out of the NFL since 2016.
John Rich continued to display his disdain for Nike and Kaepernick with a series of Tweetsâeven predicting Nikeâs stock to fall. You can check out the Tweets below.
When you compare police to PIGS, this ends the discussion for me. If you donât find a problem with that, then feel free to unfollow me. The police JUST SHOWED UP at our concert to protect and serve, Iâll ask them what they think and get back to you⊠https://t.co/S7KwlTeZos

Hey @nike if youâre gonna make the shoes, make the PIG SOCKS to match. Right? Cmon, people will LOVE that.

Our Soundman just cut the Nike swoosh off his socks. Former marine. Get ready @Nike multiply that by the millions. pic.twitter.com/h8kj6RXe7j

Pride goes before a fall. Watch @nike stock by this time next week. https://t.co/lh6ATTNwVi

Yea, and heâs burning them as soon as we get to Nashville. You can bet your ass on that big shot. https://t.co/l7jJULVRSU

The fact that I have to explain that MOST of us own @nike products prior to this âRevelationâ that Mr. #PIGSOCKS #ColinKaepernick is now their poster man, letâs me know youâre smoking too much, and are probably living in your parents basement. https://t.co/uhR7aKRCCk

Iâm owned? Nah, just saying what millions of us think. The difference is I donât care about the firestorm. If you support #PIGSOCKS then the conversation is over anyway. https://t.co/9cOfQOZmOF

I support every Americanâs right to protest whatever they want. However, if you endorse someone who wears #PIGSOCKS thatâs where you lose me. If @nike wants their âswooshâ to be associated with calling our police âPigsâ then so be it. I have a right to not buy their products.
